Target Areas

To send the campaign to specific properties, you will first need to choose the target area. Our platform offers an easy way to do this with the draw, save, and pre-load custom areas feature, which has been requested by many of our users.

Follow the steps below to learn how to use this feature -

To draw a custom area:

  1. Click the ‘draw custom area’ button in the top right of the map
  2. You can drag around on the map to move to the area you want to target and then use either the scroll wheel on your mouse or the zoom icons in the bottom right of the map to zoom in or out
  3. Click on the map where you’d like your area to start. Your drawn area will need to be inside the postcode sectors you’re currently covering in your account. You’ll see the sectors you’re currently covering in your account highlighted with a purple line. They’ll also be the areas with the pink dots appearing in them - the pink dots are the property addresses

(Don’t have an area you should be covering? Give us a call on 0161 464 5730 to discuss adding it to your account.)

  4. Click to drop your second pin. Once you’ve done this, you’ll notice that Spectre will expand the line to draw the shape automatically for you. Add as many points as you like until you’re happy with the shape.
  5. Once you’re happy with your shape, double-click on the map to finish the area.
  6. You’ll see this area populate with pink markers that represent the property addresses within your shape.
  7. From here, use the filters on the left side menu to filter the addresses down further.
  8. Click HERE to read all of the filters you can use.

Save Custom Area:

Once you have drawn your custom area, you will now have the ability to save and name this selection for future use!  To do this, you just need to -

  1. Draw your area as above
  2. Once you’re happy with it, click the ‘Save Custom Area’ on the top right of the map
  3. Name the custom area something that relates to the area drawn. For example, it could be ‘city centre,’ or the name of the local school that is close by
  4. Click save and your area should be saved and available to use the next time you go to send a campaign

Load Saved Areas:

If you are planning on regularly utilising Spectre Campaigns, it may be helpful to access a previously used area, this is especially useful if you want to continue contacting the same properties.

Consistency is key when prospecting, sending multiple letters and postcards over time can improve your chances of success. Follow the steps below to select a Saved Campaign -

    1. Open Spectre Campaigns and choose the campaign you’d like to send (a tip would be to make this different from the last one you sent and personalise it with merge fields. See HERE)
    2. Once you’re on the map, click ‘Load Saved Area’ on the top right
    3. This will load up all of the areas you’ve previously saved
    4. You might need to scroll to view all your custom areas
    5. Once you’ve found the one you’re looking for, click on the area and it should load on the map
    6. You’re then able to add any filters if you want and complete the Campaign Journey.

If you’re looking to send the same campaign to the same properties, with the same message, you can use our ‘Send Previous Campaigns' function, which will easily allow you to target the same area, using the same previously applied filters and postcard template.
