Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

To further protect your account, Spectre now supports Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) using time-based one-time passcodes. This adds an extra layer of security by requiring a code from your authenticator app when logging in.

What is 2FA?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security feature that requires you to verify your identity using two methods:

  1. Your password
  2. A unique code generated by an authenticator app or password manager

With 2FA enabled, even if someone obtains your password, they won’t be able to access your account without the one-time code.

How to Enable 2FA on Your Account

  1. Go to your Profile
    1. Navigate to your Profile page and click on the "Security & Privacy" section.
  2. Enable Two-Factor Authentication
    1. Turn on the 2FA option. A unique QR code will be displayed.
  3. Scan the QR Code
    1. Use your preferred authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or a supported password manager) to scan the QR code. This links your account with your authenticator.
  4. You're Done!
    1. 2FA is now active on your account.

Logging In with 2FA Enabled

  • After entering your email and password, you’ll be prompted to enter a one-time code from your authenticator app.
  • Some password managers will auto-fill this code for you.

This code changes every 30 seconds and can only be used once, making it highly secure.

Lost Access to Your Authenticator?

If you lose access to your authenticator app or device, contact our support team. They have a dedicated tool to reset your 2FA so you can regain access safely.

Why Use 2FA?

  • Improved Security: Protect your account even if your password is compromised.
  • Account Protection: Prevent unauthorised access with one-time use codes.
  • Peace of Mind: Know your account is secured with industry-standard protection.

We strongly recommend enabling 2FA for all users to help keep your data and business secure.
