If your leads come from external sources that don’t integrate with your Street.co.uk CRM—or if you don’t use Street—you can use Spectre’s API to automatically upload contacts into Spectre Email from your website or other lead generation tools. This enables real-time syncing of leads without any manual input.

Create a Segment Connected to the API
Once the API has been set up, you’ll need to create a segment that will link to your automated journey:
Go to Audience > Segments > Add a new segment > Upload your own list.
Select Connect with API and follow the instructions in the pop-up window.

Your developers will need to complete this step to connect the API correctly.

When the segment is successfully connected, existing external leads will begin filtering into both the Audience page and the selected segment.
Note: As long as your API is set to include the correct
segment_id
, new leads will automatically be added to the existing segment. If contacts aren't appearing as expected, please ask your developer to review the setup before contacting our support team.
Set Up an Automated Journey
With your segment in place, you can now create your Automated Journey:

Choose the “Contact uploaded” trigger under Spectre Events.

Select the segment you’ve just created from the trigger settings.
This ensures that new leads passed through the API are automatically dropped into your email workflows—allowing you to follow up instantly and increase your chances of conversion.
